As Frankfort and it's young athletes grow, so does our enthusiasm as parents to create organizations for them to flourish.
It is a place for our community to watch young woman of all ages compete in a friendly and instructional arena.
Frankfort Girls Softball (FGS) was established in the spring of 1977 and thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteer coaches and board members over the years, many of our players have gone on to successful Travel, High School and Collegiate Teams.
Frankfort Girls Softball has been one of the most successful leagues in the area and continues to provide opportunites for hundreds of players each year. In 2010 we created an alliance with neighboring towns, Mokena, Tinley Park Bulldogs and Bobcats, Orland Hills, and Monee, providing for more diverse competition, as well as, giving the players of FGS a chance to travel to local venues to compete against other leagues. In 2018, the Southsuburban Softball Conference (SSC) includes FGS, Mokena, Tinley Park Bobcats and Bulldogs, Frankfort Square, Orland Youth Association, Homer, and Lockport.
We're proud of the girls in FGS. While the League provides a very important social outlet for our players, it also creates a sense of teamwork, athletic ability and competitive spirit. From TBall to the 30U Level, our mission as a league is not only to teach the basic principles of Softball, but also to promote fair play, sportsmanship, pride and a positive identity for our young women.
Fusion is made up of 10u, 12u, and 14u eligible girls who are interested in playing softball beyond the in-house league. Practices begin in January, with Sunday games beginning in early April and lasting through mid-June. Fusion teams also participate in a number of tournaments beginning Memorial Day and possibly lasting through late July. Individual teams determine the numbers of tournaments played.
Players must play in the in-house league (spring 2019) and had to have played in the FGS in-house season (including Fall ball) prior to the 2019 season. This means they must have played in FGS during the 2018 spring or fall season.
Sunday, August 12th and Sunday, August 19th, please plan on attending both dates. Sunday August 26th will be an "as needed" date.
