Frankfort Girls Softball (FGS) was established in the spring of 1977, and thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers, including volunteer coaches and board members, over the years many of our players have gone on to successful travel, high school and collegiate teams.
Frankfort Girls Softball has been one of the most successful leagues in the area and continues to provide opportunities for hundreds of players each year. In 2010 we created an alliance with neighboring towns, Mokena, Tinley Park Bulldogs and Bobcats, Orland Hills, and Monee, providing for more diverse competition, as well as giving the players of FGS a chance to travel to local venues to compete against other leagues. In 2019, the South Suburban Softball Conference (SSC) grew to include: FGS, Tinley Park Bobcats and Bulldogs, Frankfort Square, Orland Youth Association, Homer, Lockport, Lemont, and Steger.
We're proud of the girls in FGS. While the League provides a very important social outlet for our players, it also creates a sense of community that is built upon teamwork, athletic ability and competitive spirit. Across all ages, our mission as a league is not only to teach the basic principles of softball, but to promote sportsmanship, and instill pride in themselves, their community and the game of softball, in an enjoyable & uplifting atmosphere.
